Terry McLaurin injury update: Commanders make Week 6 decision on star WR image

The Washington Commanders have made a decision on No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin for the Week 6 game against the Chicago Bears.

After practice on Saturday, head coach Dan Quinn revealed that McLaurin (quad) will not play this week, nor will fellow wideout Noah Brown (groin/knee). Quinn did add, however, that McLaurin is making progress, he just isn't there yet.

"Commanders WRs Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin) have been ruled OUT for Monday night against the Bears," The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala reported.

Not a total shock considering McLaurin did not practice during the week. He did, however, get in some work on the side field in what is a sign of progress.

Now, he and the Commanders will turn their attention to a possible Week 7 return.

With McLaurin and Brown sidelined yet again, it figures to be another big week for Deebo Samuel, although his status is also in question after he didn't practice on Thursday and was limited on Friday.

But there is reason for optimism with Samuel, as he had a "rest" designation next to his heel injury on the injury report on Thursday, which suggests his absence wasn't completely injury-related.

There has been nothing to suggest that Samuel will sit out on Monday night, but we'll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for the final injury report to make sure he is indeed suiting up against the Bears.

That should be coming from Washington at some point on Saturday afternoon.
