There are a lot of eager eyes waiting to see what Jacory Croskey-Merritt, known as Bill, can do in the NFL.
The Washington Commanders took him in the seventh round of April's NFL Draft, and the hype train has been rolling ever since.
It reached its peak when the Commanders traded away Brian Robinson Jr., potentially freeing up a job for JCM in the Washington offense alongside Austin Ekeler.
Things got a bit more confusing when the Commanders listed Croskey-Merritt as their fourth-string running back on their unofficial Week 1 depth chart.

Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury had a chance to share his thoughts on Bill during a press conference with reporters on Thursday.
"It's been interesting. He's a guy I have a ton of respect for his journey no doubt," Kingsbury said. "... We'll see how it all goes, but it's a big hype train for old Bill."
There are two ways to read that.
One is that Kingsbury is a bit confused why the hype has gotten so high.
The other is more of a tongue-in-cheek reading of it, where Kingsbury does believe in Bill and is just kind of amused by the way JCM's story has taken on a life of its own.

Fantasy football owners are certainly interested, because Croskey-Merritt could be a Week 1 flex play if his touches get into the double-digit range.
There's just no way of knowing whether that'll happen, though.
The safer hope is that by the midway point of the season, Croskey-Merritt has found his way into consistent action.
