The Washington Commanders managed a good 21-6 Week 1 win over the New York Giants to kickstart the season in a positive way, but quarterback Jayden Daniels isn't too happy.
Why? Because to him, his performance wasn't up to the standard he set in his rookie year.
Yes, it was only Week 1, and for most, it is largely about shaking off the rust and getting a win, both of which happened for Daniels, but he is far from content with his work against New York.
When looking back at the film, what were Jayden's overriding thoughts on his performance?
“I could have played better," Daniels said. "That's end of the line. Nothing more to really say. We on Green Bay now.”
Right, Jayden, we get it.

It was clear Daniels wasn't too impressed with his efforts against the Giants, and while he did finish his afternoon's work going 19 of 30 for 233 yards and a touchdown (98.3 rating) while rushing for 68 yards, it is clear he expected more.
With the Commanders having genuine Super Bowl aspirations, performances like Week 1 can't happen too often, and Jayden knows that. It is one game, and the floor for his expectations appears to have been raised from last season.
Seen as the quarterback capable of leading this franchise to Super Bowl glory in 2025, Daniels will lead his team into battle against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in what looms as a daunting task.
But make no mistake, there's no flinch in No. 5. He'll take it all before him, and we wouldn't be surprised if he emerged from Thursday night as the best player on the field.
After an inconsistent performance against the Giants, look for Jayden to bounce back and play far better than he did in Week 1.
