The Washington Commanders are paying a bit of homage to football history in the DMV.

Their new quarterback coach has a very familiar father.

The Commanders have hired D.J. Williams to that QB coach position, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Williams was most recently the quarterback coach with the Atlanta Falcons.

And yes, Williams is the son of Doug Williams.

Doug Williams, of course, led the Redskins to a Super Bowl championship and was Super Bowl MVP for his performance.

Now, his son will try and help the Commanders' phenomenal young QB, Jayden Daniels.

Daniels was great as a rookie and led Washington to the postseason. An injury-plagued second season was much more disappointing in the nation's capital.

The Commanders are set up to be good for years to come as long as Daniels stays healthy and figures out whatever held him back in 2025.

It'll be up to Doug Williams' son to help him do that.
