When NFL teams fall out of the playoff picture, their fans start to think about the NFL Draft.
Where can they end up in the draft order to have the best chance at picking a future star?
The Washington Commanders and New York Giants entered their Sunday clash in the same boat. They didn't have any playoff chance to play for.
On paper, the only thing they could do with their record was improve or hurt their draft position.
Of course, that's not how the players or coaches see it.

The Commanders picked up a convincing win, and afterward, their players clearly heard about it on social media.
The one-time All-Pro Jeremy Reaves chimed in, writing this on X:
"Don't care about no draft pick order, respectfully! Love yall though (heart emoji)."
There is some element of wanting players to know how to win.
At the same time, there is real value to better draft picks. So you can see both sides of the coin.
