Titans' Chimere Dike is on verge of all-time NFL record image

Chimere Dike has been absolutely special as a rookie for the Tennessee Titans.

The wide receiver and return man has already set the NFL record for all-purpose yards in a rookie season.

Can he get the all-time mark in Week 18?

It's not entirely out of reach as the Titans face the Jaguars.

Dike has 2,371 all-purpose yards to this point, broken down:

  • 396 receiving yards
  • 18 rushing yards
  • 389 punt return yards
  • 1,568 kick return yards

The NFL's single-season record was set by Darren Sproles in 2011 at 2,696 yards.

So that means Dike would need 326 all-purpose yards in Week 18 to get there.

That's obviously a lot, but it's not impossible. If he had a long kick return for a touchdown early in the game, it would feel like the door was open.

Even if Dike doesn't get there, it's been a fantastic season with lots of promise for the future.

He made the Pro Bowl for his returning duties.

Dike was a fourth-round pick out of Florida, and he's clearly a core piece of the Titans' future alongside fellow rookies Cam Ward, Elic Ayomanor and Gunnar Helm.

And maybe, if he can have a massive Sunday in Week 18, he can set a record.
