Buccaneers' Baker Mayfield offers update on injured shoulder after Week 14 win image

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield's game-day status for Week 14 was in doubt for the majority of the week after suffering an AC joint sprain in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week.

But Baker took his place in the lineup, helping the Buccaneers to a 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals to improve to 7-5, but Mayfield's shoulder was the real headline.

He got through the game relatively unscathed as Tampa Bay only allowed two sacks, thus protecting Baker's shoulder. But once the adrenaline wears off after playing four quarters of football, the pain and discomfort can set in.

So, how is Baker's shoulder after the win?

"Feels pretty good," Mayfield said. "Hopefully continue to improve, really didn't take any direct hits on it, to me that's the most important part."

Chris Godwin looking like "Chris Godwin" vs. Cardinals

It has now been a few games back for the star receiver, as he works his way back to being the player we know him to be, and against the Cardinals, Chris looked like the Chris of old.

Godwin would post 78 yards from his three receptions, while having a 31-yard reception thrown in.

So, getting Godwin back and in this sort of groove, along with Bucky Irving having his first game back and looking menacing in the run game as he grabbed a touchdown in his return, is good, but the biggest story is Baker's shoulder.

After four quarters, he got through unscathed, the Buccaneers got the win, and Godwin looks like himself. That's a pretty good Week 14, I'd say.
