It's impossible, right? Mike Evans can't get 860 receiving yards in five games, can he?
No, there's no realistic scenario where that can happen. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' wide receiver has been far too injured this season to extend his streak of 1,000-yard seasons.
But if there was ever an NFL quarterback who would see impossible and think, "Not if I can help it," it's Baker Mayfield.
So yes, this is mostly in jest (and Evans has to return to playing, too, which isn't a given this week).

But this post on X got us thinking:

Evans has reached 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first 11 NFL seasons. No one has ever started a career like that.
But this season has featured a hamstring injury followed by a collarbone injury. So far, it's been appearances in just four games totaling 140 receiving yards.
If Evans were to pull off the impossible, he'd need to average 172 receiving yards per game over the last five games to get there.

On the off chance Evans has a 200-plus-yard game in the next couple, it'd look slightly less impossible.
Given all the injuries and Evans' likely need to work himself back up to speed, it's not going to happen.
But the idea of not writing off Mayfield, that is certainly a fair point that's worth a chuckle.
