It looked like Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was going to have a massive day in the first half against the Arizona Cardinals after he torched Seattle's division rival over the first two quarters, but he has been quiet ever since.
Smith-Njigba had a monster first half against Arizona, reeling in four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. He also had a brief injury scare, as he was checked for a concussion after taking a hard hit to the head but was cleared and returned.
Included in Smith-Njigba's impressive first half was a 43-yard touchdown catch on a deep ball from quarterback. Sam Darnold
JSN's big first half and a pair of defensive touchdowns helped stake the Seahawks to a huge 38-7 lead over the Cardinals going into half time, but that has had a negative impact on his production for the rest of the game.
What happened to Jaxon Smith-Njigba?
As a result of their huge lead, the Seahawks haven't been playing JSN for a full complement of snaps in the second half, and Seattle has gone run heavy as the Seahawks seek to run out the clock.
Both approaches are understandable because the Seahawks obviously don't want to risk injuring JSN and the rest of their starters in a game that is already over.
The downside, of course, is that fantasy owners are robbed of what would have been a nuclear performance from Smith-Njigba.
Smith-Njigba once again showed why he's one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. JSN is now over 1,000 yards for the season. He entered Week 10 as the league's leader in that category and will likely leave Sunday still on top.
