Oftentimes, Thursday Night Football gets clowned for typically giving NFL fans the most underwhelming game of the week. That could not have been any further from the truth this week.

Going into the game, one thing was clear: this was a battle between two of the best teams in the league for not just the number one spot in the NFC West, but in the entire conference, and they do not like each other.

Just knowing that it's primed to be electric, it's already highly anticipated, but over the course of the week, multiple headlines made it even crazier.

Now that we've witnessed what many are calling the NFL's game of the year, let's break down every wild headline from this week until the final whistle blew.

Crazy week leads to even crazier battle for the NFC

One of the main headlines of this game was not just these two teams, but the battle between two of the NFL's premier WRs in Puka Nacua and Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Nacua had no shortage of media attention.

From comments about the refs during a livestream to having to apologize for an inappropriate and insensitive celebration idea, he seemingly wasn't capable of making the right decisions. Not only that, but his younger brother stole Lakers' rookie Adou Thiero's SUV. Yes, that happened.

You'd think surely that's enough weirdness for one organization in the week. It was not. The night before the game, just as the Rams were about to depart from Los Angeles, the flight experienced significant delays due to equipment issues with the plane.

They didn't get into Seattle until very late at night or very early in the morning, depending on who you are. That had to have some effect.

Then came the most insane game of the season. These are just some of the wildest events that took place tonight:

  • Matthew Stafford threw for 457 yards and 3 TDs, and Puka Nacua went for 225 yards and 2 TDs in a LOSS.
  • The Seahawks cashed in on arguably the most insane two-point conversion of all time
  • The Seahawks went 3/3 on two-point conversions for the entire game
  • The game went into overtime.
  • The Seahawks broke a franchise record and broke one of the Rams' most insane records.

Fans will likely not be treated to a game like that or a week of drama like that for the rest of the season.

With three weeks to go, nothing is set in stone, still in a tight race in the NFC, but tonight's game certainly gets us closer to the full picture.
