The Seattle Seahawks are the No.1 seed in the NFC after picking up one of the most memorable wins in recent franchise history on Thursday night versus the Los Angeles Rams.
Seattle was down 30-14 midway through the fourth quarter and looked completely out of the game. However, Mike Macdonald's squad scored 16 unanswered points in the final period to force overtime, where they eventually won by a score of 38-37.
With their win in primetime over the Rams, the Seahawks clinched a playoff berth and took control of the NFC West and the No. 1 seed. The team also accomplished a feat that has never been done in franchise history.
Before Thursday night's showdown with Los Angeles, Seattle was 0-172 all-time when trailing by 15 or more points in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks are now 1-172 in those games, thanks to the improbable comeback victory over the Rams.
Heading into the final two weeks of the season, Seattle controls their destiny in the NFC. If they win out, the Seahawks will take home the NFC West crown, clinch the top seed, and receive a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Seattle will finish the year with two road games, traveling to Bank of America Stadium to square off against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, and wrapping up the regular season at Levi's Stadium versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Week 18's game versus the 49ers could have a lot on the line, depending on how the next few weeks play out. However, one thing is certain: The Seahawks are in control of the NFC through 17 weeks of the 2025 campaign and pulled off an all-time stunner versus the Rams on Thursday.
