The Seattle Seahawks are enjoying their first-round bye in the NFL playoffs, but amid all of the buzz around the league, offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is popping up as a head coaching candidate.

Losing Kubiak would be far from ideal, and while teams like the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins might not go after him, there is another NFC team that might have a lot of interest in Kubiak.

As Jeremy Fowler of ESPN notes, the Seahawks' offensive coordinator might be a great fit with the Atlanta Falcons thanks to Bijan Robinson and the potential for such a "lethal" combination.

Falcons' biggest threat to poach Klint Kubiak from Seattle

"Offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is interviewing in Atlanta, among other spots, with the Falcons a potential pairing that makes sense," Fowler writes. "As one NFC coach noted, Kubiak's system and acumen with Bijan Robinson and a good offensive line 'would be lethal.'"

Seeing Kubiak leave for a head coaching job this offseason isn't out of the question, and for the Seahawks, there might not be a bigger threat than the Falcons.

He's a great offensive mind, and pairing him with Robinson, the most dynamic running back in the NFL, would make for a very fun and "lethal" pairing.

Kubiak's head coaching buzz is serious, and while the Seahawks would love to keep him beyond the 2025 season and the playoffs, there's a strong chance he leaves for a head coaching gig.

On the other hand, defensive coordinator Aden Durde might not be as strong a coaching candidate this cycle, so even if Kubiak leaves to be a head coach somewhere, the defense in Seattle shouldn't change much.

But, after a breakout year from Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Sam Darnold proving his 2024 breakout wasn't a fluke, and the duo of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet getting better as the year went on, losing Kubiak would be a big deal.

There are some interesting offensive coordinator choices available, but Kubiak has had success with the team, and seeing him leave could have disastrous consequences, as the Detroit Lions experienced after losing Ben Johnson.

Atlanta is the team most likely to poach Kubiak, thanks in part to the incredible fit he'd be with Robinson. But, for now, Kubiak will coach the Seahawks in the playoffs as they aim for another Super Bowl appearance.
