The Seattle Seahawks are officially the NFC West champions and the No. 1 seed in the conference following their Week 18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seahawks, led by quarterback Sam Darnold, finish the regular season with 14 wins, and in the process Darnold has tied an NFL record.

Darnold becomes just the second quarterback in league history to win 14 games in back-to-back seasons. Tom Brady is the only other quarterback to accomplish that feat, according to SNY's Connor Hughes.

Prior to winning 14 games with the Seahawks in 2025, Darnold won 14 contests with the Minnesota Vikings as their starter in 2024. Minnesota did not, however, win the No. 1 seed or the division like the Seahawks did this year.

Brady had back-to-back 14-win seasons in 2003 and 2004 with the New England Patriots.

With the victory, the Seahawks will now enjoy a bye in the first round of the NFL playoffs, enabling the team to get some extra rest and more time for its injured players to heal up.

Meanwhile, the Niners will await the results of the Los Angeles Rams versus Arizona Cardinals contest on Sunday to see if they'll be the No. 5 or 6 seed.

The Niners will secure the No. 5 spot with a Rams loss, but will slide down to the No. 6 spot with a Los Angeles win.
