TL;DR

  • Seattle Seahawks lost to Los Angeles Rams but had a remarkable season despite Sam Darnold's four interceptions.
  • Rookie guard Grey Zabel suffered a knee injury but head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed it is not serious.
  • Zabel's injury is day-to-day, and he is expected to return for a playoff run along with Jalen Sundell.

Despite losing Sunday to the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks have enjoyed a remarkable season thus far. Even though many dismiss moral victories, it's impressive that after a day with four interceptions from Sam Darnold, the game still came down to a successful field goal for the win.

Despite the Seahawks' latest defeat, a more significant concern emerged as the game concluded.

Seahawks' promising rookie guard, Grey Zabel, suffered an injury in the fourth quarter. Charles Cross inadvertently collided with Zabel's left knee while executing a block during a Kenneth Walker III touchdown run near the game's end.

He required assistance leaving the field. For those devoted to the Seahawks, witnessing this was among the most distressing sights imaginable at this stage of the season.

Today, head coach Mike Macdonald gave everyone an update on the rookie’s injury.

Grey Zabel appears to have escaped significant harm.

Mike Macdonald's testimony to the media confirmed that the anxieties of numerous Seahawks supporters would not come to pass.

Macdonald commented on his rookie, stating, “Glad it wasn't serious. My understanding is Zabel's situation is day-to-day."

The Seahawks have successfully sidestepped a crisis. A defeat that included the absence of starting center Jalen Sundell, further worsened by Grey Zabel's prolonged unavailability, would have been a terrible scenario.

The Seahawks' offense ranks among the NFL's elite, largely due to the strong performance of their offensive line throughout the season.

Zabel is considered day-to-day, and Seattle is expected to have both him and Sundell back with ample time to spare for a playoff run.
