The Seattle Seahawks are coming off one of the most improbable wins in franchise history. After trailing the Los Angeles Rams 30-14 in the fourth quarter of their Week 16 tilt, the Seahawks stormed back and outscored the Rams 24-7 in the fourth quarter and overtime to win and take over the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
Sam Darnold had a slow start to the game, throwing two interceptions, but also threw two touchdowns to help Seattle get the win. And with two weeks left in the season, the Seahawks signal-caller could hit a big pay day.
Per Spotrac, Darnold has a $500 thousand incentive in his contract if he hits 4,000 passing yards. He gets another $500 thousand if he throws for 28 touchdowns. Right now, he sits with 3,703 yards and 24 touchdowns. Even if he doesn't hit both marks against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, he almost certainly will hit both over the span of two weeks.
Darnold's season has landed him in the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive year. He was a Pro Bowler in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings after throwing for 35 touchdowns and leading the Vikings to a 14-3 record. And now in his first year with the Seahawks, he has Seattle on pace to be the No. 1 seed, ensuring the road to the Super Bowl goes through Lumen Field.
