The Seattle Seahawks are experiencing one of their most impressive seasons in recent memory, boasting a 9-3 record, trailing the Los Angeles Rams by half a game for first place in the NFC West.
Despite an incredible season from quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the passing offense can sometimes leave a little more to be desired.
Outside of JSN, Seattle relies on Tory Horton and an older Cooper Kupp as their pass-catching options, and the Seahawks need an upgrade.
Seahawks predicted to select Louisville WR Chris Bell in 2026 mock draft
In Dane Brugler's latest mock draft for The Athletic, he projects the Seahawks selecting Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell with the 28th overall pick.
"Jaxon Smith-Njigba has separated himself as one of the NFL’s best players, but the long-term health of Seattle’s wide receiver depth chart is very unsettled," wrote Brugler.
"At 6-2, 225 with 4.4 speed, Bell is a big-bodied target with exciting run-after-catch skills that will speak directly to general manager John Schneider. His best football is still ahead of him."
Smith-Njigba has 1,336 receiving yards this season. The next highest Seahawks pass-catcher? Kupp with 438.
Seattle's offense is too one-dimensional, and desperately needs another weapon to take some pressure off JSN. Darnold is having a great year, but his best season came in Minnesota, when he was throwing to both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Landing Bell would be a great step in the right direction and supply the Seahawks with a lethal receiving combo for years to come.
