The Seattle Seahawks are one of the best defensive units in the NFL through 11 weeks, but there's a huge issue that will need addressing in the offseason.

As Aaron Schatz pointed out for ESPN, the Seahawks are losing five players from their defensive backfield to free agency after 2025.

The team needs to address that position in a major way this offseason, otherwise their strong unit might severely regress in 2026.

"Cornerback Devon Witherspoon is set, as is safety Nick Emmanwori. The rest of the secondary is hitting free agency all at once," Schatz writes.

The five players that are hitting the open market after 2025 are Coby Brant, Josh Jobe, Derion Kendrick, Ty Okuda, and Riq Woolen.

While keeping all five will prove to be difficult, the Seahawks should bring back a few of these players this offseason. Reshaping a secondary only makes sense when it's not a good unit. This team's defense is too good to let all of these pieces walk.

Woolen is the most likely player to depart this offseason, as the trade talks surrounding the young cornerback were well-documented this season.

Bryant, on the other hand, is a player the Seahawks are trying to keep. Brady Henderson of ESPN highlighted that Bryant is a player the Seahawks have already tried to extend, making their interest in bringing the cornerback back to Seattle clear.

Seattle has to make some big decisions this offseason in the secondary, as all five of these players are hitting the open market. The defense is a strong unit, and keeping most of it together is a major issue for the Seahawks to figure out in the upcoming offseason.
