The Seattle Seahawks are taking a firm stance in their effort to create the best possible playoff atmosphere at the home of the "12th Man." Season ticket holders may want to think twice before listing their Divisional Round tickets for resale.

According to Seahawks blogger Brian Nemhauser, the team has issued warnings to fans who have posted their tickets online.

"Our records indicate that your seats for the upcoming... Game are currently posted for resale," the Seahawks wrote in emails sent to some season ticket holders on Friday.

The team warned that selling tickets through third-party platforms could jeopardize 2026 season ticket renewal eligibility.

"To avoid any impact to your renewal eligibility, we ask that you remove your resale listing and ensure your tickets are used by another 12," the email stated. "We encourage you to distribute your tickets directly to friends, family members, neighbors, or community groups that will help us pack Lumen Field with blue and green."

The team’s approach sparked debate online, spilling into the mentions of Seahawks podcast host Evan Hill.

Some fans argue that anyone who purchases tickets should retain the right to resell them, regardless of who ultimately uses them, comparing ticket ownership to selling personal property or assets. Hill pushed back on that comparison, saying the Seahawks are attempting to shift this "type of thinking."

"This is not a profit generating asset or an investment vehicle," he added. "You’re not entitled to anything."
