The Seattle Seahawks made their first move on trade deadline day, landing New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.
"Trade! The Saints are sending WR Rashid Shaheed to the Seahawks, sources tell me and @RapSheet," Pelissero wrote on X.
Shaheed reunites with his former Saints offensive coordinator, Clint Kubiak, in Seattle.
Seahawks acquire Saints' Rashid Shaheed
The Seahawks are sending their 2026 fourth and fifth-round picks to the Saints in exchange for the deep threat, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Shaheed is a massive addition in Seattle, who were lacking in the wide receiver department heading into the deadline.
Jaxson Smith-Njigba leads the team in receiving yards with 948. After him, it's a pretty sizable gap with Cooper Kupp totaling 293 yards.
The former Saints wideout should provide the Seahawks offense with a vertical threat, stretching the field for quarterback Sam Darnold.
So far in 2025, Shaheed has totaled 44 catches for 499 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 11.3 yards per reception.
With a few more hours until the end of the deadline, Seattle could look to continue acquiring talent on the offensive line, as they currently sit tied with the Los Angeles Rams atop the NFC West.
