There's going to be a lot of money up for grabs for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold in Week 18.
According to Spotrac, Darnold can earn a whopping $2 million extra if he can hit four different benchmarks to activate incentives in his contract.
Here's a look at the numbers he has to finish with to hit each incentive, along with where he currently sits:
- $500,000 for a 100 Passer Rating (99.18)
- $500,000 for 28 Pass TD (25)
- $500,000 for 4,000 Pass YD (3,850)
- $500,00 for 67.5% Completion (67.2%)
There's good and bad news for Darnold's hopes of hitting those numbers.
The bad news is that Darnold tends to come up small in big moments and this is a big one, as the Seahawks are squaring off against the San Francisco 49ers for the division title and No. 1 seed in the conference on Saturday night.
The good news is, the 49ers have been one of the most giving teams in the NFL through the air.
Entering Week 18, the Niners' pass defense ranks 25th in the NFL, and San Fran's 29 passing touchdowns allowed is the sixth-most in the NFL.
San Fran is also giving up the sixth-highest completion rate (67.6%) and seventh-highest passer rating (100.6) against opposing quarterbacks.
The table is set for Darnold to reach his incentives, but it's just a matter of which Darnold will show up.
