The San Francisco 49ers are locked in a tough NFC battle with the Philadelphia Eagles, and after being down 13-7 in the second quarter, things just took a turn for the worse.
Tight end George Kittle, who had barely been sighted, hauled in a catch from Brock Purdy for a six-yard gain, but the star tight end suffered an injury on the play.
And it didn't look good.
With replays from the Fox broadcast, it looked like the classic Achilles injury for Kittle. As he planted his back leg, we saw his calf area move as we have often seen when other players have torn their Achilles.
Now, this is pure speculation, and we hope that isn't the case for Kittle, but he's out of the game in Philly after being carted off to the locker room.

49ers up against it vs. Eagles
Already swimming against the tide with a host of starters already injured, such as Fred Warner and Nick Bosa, we now add Kittle to the long injury list.
Prudy will now have to rely on Christian McCaffrey even more, along with Demarcus Robinson, if they are to get what would be a superb win on the road.
It has been a tough year, injury-wise, for the 49ers, but they've continued to stack the wins, and now, once in the playoffs, another cruel blow has happened with Kittle.
If Purdy and Co are to win this, it would be a serious comeback.
