Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall had one of his best games of the 2025 campaign for the San Francisco 49ers last week, but he also suffered two injuries.
Pearsall suffered knee and ankle injuries in the midst of his six-catch, 96-yard performance in the win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.
Pearsall did not practice at all over the course of the week. Here's what we know about his status for the Week 16 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Is Ricky Pearsall playing tonight?
No, Pearsall will not be in action for the Niners on Monday night, as he was ruled out on Saturday because of his knee issue.
"Ricky will stay back," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "He was close but not close enough."
Ricky Pearsall injury update, return timeline
Pearsall was diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain and suffered what Shanahan called an "irritation" of the PCL in his knee, an issue he dealt with earlier in the season.
It's hard to gauge how long Pearsall is going to be out.
A low-ankle sprain is usually a one-to-two-week injury, but the knee issue obviously complicates things further.
The 49ers would obviously love to have him back as soon as possible, but with San Fran having already clinched a playoff berth, it isn't that crucial for him to return during the final two games of the season, so the Niners can take it slow.
