Purdy says '100%' 49ers can win Super Bowl if healthy image

The San Francisco 49ers put together a strong 2025–26 season, especially considering the circumstances they faced.

That run came to an abrupt end in Seattle, where the Seahawks controlled every phase of the game and appeared bound for a larger prize. Still, there is plenty for the 49ers to build on moving forward.

San Francisco finished the season 12–5 and knocked off the defending Super Bowl champions in Philadelphia during the playoffs, all while dealing with a staggering number of injuries to key players.

The 49ers entered the divisional round without Fred Warner, George Kittle, Trent Williams, and Ji’Ayir Brown. Others, including Nick Bosa and Tatum Bethune, were on injured reserve, while Dee Winters and Ricky Pearsall played through injuries of their own.

Saturday night marked the end of the road, and the 49ers will not have the opportunity to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium for Super Bowl 60. Even so, the outlook is not bleak.

Quarterback Brock Purdy, who also missed time this season due to injury, closed the year on a resilient note. Whether the 49ers can return to full health and make another push toward a sixth Super Bowl title remains to be seen. When asked after the game if this team, once healthy and as currently constructed, can win a Super Bowl, Purdy didn’t hesitate.

"100%," he said. "We have the right guys. We always bounce back. We'll be just fine."
