Christian McCaffrey's injury update from Adam Schefter left confusion for 49ers RB image

Christian McCaffrey was added to the San Francisco 49ers injury report on Saturday.

Normally, that's not a great sign.

This time around, though, ESPN's Adam Schefter almost immediately shared on X that CMC would be "good to go" to take on the Titans in Week 15.

That's all well and good, but it has left everyone a little confused.

McCaffrey has a long injury history. If he's picked up a new knock, it's something that fans will naturally be concerned about.

But if the 49ers knew to pretty much immediately leak Schefter the status report, it's a bit odd that McCaffrey had to go on the report at all.

There's a tad of risk on Sunday, because the 49ers could start blowing out the Titans and let the backups get more work.

The hope for anyone counting on McCaffrey, though, would be that his early production would be the part making it a blowout in the first place.

For any concerned fantasy football managers, there's no scenario where you can sit McCaffrey if he's active.

If he happened to miss the game, his backup Brian Robinson Jr. Would be looking at a heavy workload. But that doesn't seem to be what will happen here.
