The San Francisco 49ers saw veteran edge rusher Nick Bosa exit the Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals early due to what was called a knee injury.

Bosa got banged-up in the first quarter and after initially being ruled as questionable to return, the 27-year-old was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

It was pretty clear that Bosa wasn't going to return after he gave the crowd a thumbs down to signify it wasn't a good situation.

After the game, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said initial tests didn't reveal an ACL injury, but more tests are coming.

Shanahan did add, however, that Bosa didn't feel great after the game, which leads to concerns about his status moving forward.

"There is concern because of how he feels," Shanahan said. "Hopefully we'll have some good news tomorrow."

Bosa is one of the best defensive ends in the NFL and losing him for any period of time would be a major blow to San Francisco's defense.

Prior to exiting the game, Bosa recorded two tackles. He had two sacks, 15 tackles, three QB hits, four tackles for loss and nine pressures entering Week 3.
