  • McCaffrey has accumulated 1581 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns this season.

The San Francisco 49ers picked up a win on national television Monday night, besting the Carolina Panthers 20-9.

Christian McCaffrey, the running back, was the standout performer, delivering a classic display against his old club. The ex-Panther amassed 142 yards from scrimmage on 31 carries, crossing the end zone once on the way to the win.

Teammate Ricky Pearsall, however, wasn't entirely satisfied with McCaffrey's performance and made a few lighthearted jabs at him post-game.

Ricky Pearsall would prefer to receive 30 touches per game.

Pearsall was asked after the game if he thinks it's tough for McCaffrey to be so heavily utilized in the 49ers' offense.

"I don't think it's tough, I mean s—, I would love 30 touches a game," Pearsall said with a smile.

"I don't think it's tough at all, honestly. He's a really good football player, and whenever the ball is in his hands or going his way, success happens. So, why not keep throwing to him, hand off the ball... I think it's really fun for him."

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan likely doesn't need his second-year receiver telling him the obvious, but it's fun to see teammates poking fun at one another in a light-hearted manner.

McCaffrey powers San Francisco's offense, and he's having an exceptional season to date.

Across 12 contests, CMC has accumulated 1581 yards from scrimmage and scored 12 touchdowns, and the 49ers intend to rely heavily on their star running back throughout their playoff run.
