- Parker's physical talent is noted, offering insurance for Nick Bosa and enhancing the edge rusher rotation.
The San Francisco 49ers have experienced a rather unusual year, largely because of the injuries they've faced on both offense and defense.
Despite the unusual season, the 49ers continue to secure victories with impressive consistency, holding an 8-4 record.
Despite being third in the NFC West, their continued winning streak should secure them a playoff spot regardless of other outcomes.
With the 23rd selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, CBS Sports' Mike Renner analyzed potential picks and forecasted that T.J. Parker, a defensive end from Clemson, would be their choice.
“Parker has had a disappointing season, but the physical talent is obviously still there. He's a powerful three-down 4-3 defensive end. His addition would provide the 49ers some insurance with Nick Bosa's health and give them a rotation of edge rushers,” he wrote.
During his tenure at Clemson, Parker demonstrated his potential to be among the nation's top collegiate athletes.
Unfortunately for the youngster, Clemson hasn’t been great during his time with the program.
While that's not necessarily a criticism, it's also worth noting he's recorded just two sacks this season, which would represent the lowest total of his career as a Tiger.
