Jauan Jennings wanted more money or a trade.

The San Francisco 49ers got him a bit more cash.

On Wednesday night, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported an updated contract agreement between the 49ers and Jennings to avoid his trade request and get ready for Week 1 against the Seahawks.

Schefter wrote, "49ers and Jauan Jennings reached agreement on a deal that will add $3 million in play-time incentives to the wide receiver’s contract, per his agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. Now, instead of earning $7.5 million this season, Jennings can earn up to $10.5 million."

Jennings is just working his way back from a calf injury but is expected to be available for the 49ers season opener vs. the Seahawks Sunday.

"Once Jennings got healthy and began recovering from his calf injury, negotiations with the 49ers picked up and resulted in an agreement," Schefter said. "Jennings turned down a multi-year deal to do a one-year deal and bet on himself. He is scheduled to become a free agent after this season."

Jennings is coming off a career year, with 77 catches for 975 yards and six TDs while spending a large portion of last season as the 49ers' WR1.

He'll have to do that again with Brandon Aiyuk out to start the season and Deebo Samuel traded away. Jennings and Ricky Pearsall currently top the 49ers wide receiver depth chart.

Jennings, also a great run blocker, has his fate for this season set and his motivation to perform, too, given that he'll be seeking a new contract next offseason.

Let the games begin.
