Brock Purdy's bank account might soon be a lot fuller.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been rumored to be in contract extension talks for much of the offseason, and lately, it appears they are coming to a head.
Purdy is now "actively negotiating" with the 49ers, according to Fox Sports NFL reporter Jordan Schultz.
According to Schultz, the deal is expected to end up in the $50-55 million range. That would make Purdy one of, but not the, highest-paid QBs in the NFL.
It's been an incredible rise for Purdy, who is well-known for having been Mr. Irrelevant as the 2022 NFL Draft's final pick before becoming a stellar starting quarterback.
Schultz writes that the hope is for Purdy and the 49ers to agree on a new deal before the 2025 season kicks off.

This is slated to be the last year of Purdy's rookie deal.
In three seasons, Purdy is 23-13 as a starter with 64 touchdown passes compared to 27 interceptions. And pretty soon, he looks like he'll be receiving a big check.
