The Pittsburgh Steelers had quite the injury scare with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In Week 11, Rodgers exited the game early due to a wrist injury. It was later revealed that Rodgers had suffered a small fracture, which led to concerns that he would miss significant time.

However, it was later determined that Rodgers had dodged that bullet, although that didn't help him avoid sitting out in Week 12.

As we turn the page to Week 13, Rodgers has a chance to return after only missing one game. Here's what we know about his chances of playing on Sunday.

Will Aaron Rodgers return in Week 13?

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that he has "great optimism" that Rodgers will return to action in Week 13.

"Aaron obviously, man, worked his tail off to get to us last week, but as I mentioned over the course of the weekend, it was a prudent and appropriate decision [to not play him Sunday]," Tomlin said.

We'll start this week with great optimism, although we certainly will limit him at the early portions of the week," Tomlin added. "Provide opportunities for the other quarterbacks while preserving him. But again, we're comfortable with the general trajectory, but I'll keep you updated in his level of participation and the quality of his participation over the course of the week will be a be the greatest indicator."

Before Tomlin's comments, there was already great optimism about Rodgers' status for this week after he turned in two limited practices last week and nearly played.

Now, we have confirmation from the Steelers' head coach that Rodgers is likely to play. We'll still be keeping an eye on that injury report, though.
