What T.J. Watt injury update from Pittsburgh Steelers means for EDGE's Week 17 status image

The Pittsburgh Steelers have an injury concern regarding edge rusher T.J. Watt ahead of the team's Week 17 matchup versus the Cleveland Browns.

Watt has missed the last two games for Pittsburgh due to a partially collapsed lung, which he suffered during a dry needling session at the team's facility on Dec.10.

It's unclear when Watt will be back, but we did receive an update on his potential status on Thursday.

Will T.J. Watt play in Week 17?

Watt logged a limited practice once again on Thursday. The Steelers' edge rusher was also limited on Wednesday in his first practice back since surgery on his lung.

Pittsburgh could use Watt back in the lineup to boost its pass rush. However, if the 31-year-old isn't fully healthy and recovered, they also shouldn't rush him back.

The Steelers could be AFC North champions by the time they play the Browns on Sunday. If the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, Pittsburgh will be the division champions.

It makes no sense to bring Watt back in Week 17 if he isn't ready and the Steelers win the division on Saturday with a Ravens loss. However, the eight-time Pro Bowler should be healthy and active sooner rather than later.
