T.J. Watt is set to miss his third straight game for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 versus the Cleveland Browns.
Watt is still recovering from a partially collapsed lung, which required surgery, that he suffered on December 10 during a dry needling session at the team's facility.
Though Watt is out for Week 17, we did receive an update on when we can expect the All-Pro edge rusher to be back in the lineup.
When will T.J. Watt return?
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Watt is expected to return for Pittsburgh's next meaningful game.
"Watt is expected to be available for the Steelers' next meaningful game. The only question is, will that be during next week versus the Ravens, or in the wild card round?" Pelissero said on the NFL Network on Saturday.
Pittsburgh can clinch the AFC North in Week 17 with a Baltimore Ravens loss to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday or if they take care of business against Cleveland on Sunday.
So, that means Watt will be back in Week 18 or the wild-card round, depending on whether the Steelers gave anything to play for in the final regular-season game versus Baltimore.
It's a great sign that Pittsburgh is getting Watt back just in time for the postseason. The multiple-time All-Pro is one of the most dominant players in football and will provide a major boost for the Steelers in January.
