The Tennessee Titans are expected to be major sellers at the 2025 NFL trade deadline, as the team has a 1-8 record and has already traded two of their starters, cornerbacks Jarvis Brownlee Jr. And Roger McCreary.
Tennessee has a few veteran players that teams will be interested in ahead of the November 4 deadline, including wide receiver Calvin Ridley. The 30-year-old has had a bit of a down year in 2025 and is also currently dealing with a hamstring injury, but there's no denying that Ridley could be an impactful addition for a receiver-needy squad.
With the Titans receiving calls on a plethora of key players, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that Ridley has emerged as a trade target around the league.
"Wide receiver Calvin Ridley also has emerged as a potential trade target, sources say. Several playoff-bound teams have a need at WR, and Ridley, still just 30, could be had for the right price. He is currently battling a hamstring issue, which could complicate things, as could his $23 million due this year, of which most comes in his base salary. There are ways to handle a big salary, though, and trades can always happen if both sides want to do a deal," Rapoport wrote.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio also reported after Tennessee's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday that the Titans are trading Ridley. However, his report was refuted by ESPN's Turron Davenport, who says that Tennessee has no plans to move its veteran receiver.
"The Titans are not shopping Calvin Ridley as some reports are saying. Confirmed with multiple team sources that is not the case. They have, however, received calls about Ridley and other players," Davenport wrote on X.
If Ridley is available, multiple franchises that need another playmaker should call the Titans, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. Pittsburgh has been searching for a dynamic No.2 receiver to pair with DK Metcalf, and Ridley would be a solid option.
New York isn't in playoff contention, but rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has shown a ton of promise, and acquiring Ridley to be his top pass-catcher would be an electric move. However, the Alabama product doesn't really fit New York's timeline and likely won't be a long-term piece.
The Steelers and Giants would both be logical landing spots for Ridley, but Pittsburgh makes the most sense. Mike Tomlin's squad is in a win-now mode, and Ridley would provide a nice boost to Arthur Smith's offense as the perfect complement to Metcalf.
