Everyone knew the Miami Dolphins were trying to trade Jalen Ramsey. Everyone knew that Ramsey, the star cornerback, wanted to get traded.
But did anyone see the Pittsburgh Steelers as the destination?
The Steelers stunned the NFL on Monday morning by acquiring Ramsey from Miami, with the news broken by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The return was just as shocking: Pittsburgh sends Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami.
Pittsburgh bolsters a cornerback room that already included Joey Porter Jr. and had already added Darius Slay this offseason.
All along, it seemed like the Los Angeles Rams were the right fit for Ramsey. He had played there before and won a Super Bowl. Head coach Sean McVay even said a bunch of great things about Ramsey earlier in the offseason.
The Dolphins didn't seem to find a great taker immediately, or Ramsey would've moved before June 30. But with coach Mike McDaniel not wanting to speak about Ramsey since he wasn't in attendance at offseason activities, it was clear where this was heading.
Apparently, a different team just needed to enter the picture.

The Steelers are clearly going for it. They signed Aaron Rodgers and Slay, and they traded for DK Metcalf.
Now in adding Ramsey, that's four all-world level football players, at various stages of their careers, who have moved to Pittsburgh this offseason.
Ramsey might not be at the absolute peak of his powers, but he's one of the most versatile defensive backs in football. Mike Tomlin and company will be able to line Ramsey up wherever they want to.
The Dolphins felt they had to make this move, and so now they move forward fully free of Ramsey.
It's teams like the Rams who might be the most bummed. They're in win-now mode too given QB Matthew Stafford's age, but they weren't able to pull off the deal for the star cornerback, because the Steelers did it first.
