The Pittsburgh Steelers are still assumed to be ending up with Aaron Rodgers in free agency.
And if that happens, Rodgers would start over veteran Mason Rudolph (along with sixth-round rookie Will Howard).
Rudolph spoke with the team's official website to share his thoughts on the Rodgers saga.
“That’s nothing new to me," Rudolph said. There’s been constant noise. That is the nature of the NFL. So I am used to that for a long time. Now I’m doing nothing but being the best I can be to help our team get better this spring.”
Rudolph is certainly saying the right things there.
He spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Steelers. He started 13 games, going 8-4-1.
Last year, Rudolph left for the Titans, where he was 1-4 as a starter.
Rudolph is back where things started from the time he was a third-round pick by the Steelers in 2018.

Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin has repeatedly praised Rudolph, and he at least sounds outwardly like he'd be totally OK if Rudolph ends up being the Steelers' starting quarterback.
Rudolph would be a solid backup to have if Rodgers does show up. The 41-year old isn't a guarantee to stay healthy the whole year.
Either way, the Steelers know they can count on Rudolph, and that's not a bad feeling to have.
