The Pittsburgh Steelers have their new head coach, with Mike McCarthy taking over from Mike Tomlin, who held the title for nearly two decades.
Some aren't pleased with the hire, as it is another older head coach who has been at multiple stops.
Fans wanted a fresh offensive mind, but don't forget, McCarthy isn't that bad either.
Being born in Pittsburgh, McCarthy has strong ties to the Steelers, and now the franchise finally has an offensive-minded head coach.
And what has been Pittsburgh's biggest problem over the years? Yep, the offense.
And Hall of Fame coach Bill Cowher, in speaking on CBS, loves the hire.
"Everywhere he's been, he's uplifted the offense," Cowher said. "And if you look at the Pittsburgh Steelers right now, if there's been inconsistencies in recent years, it's been the instability of having a reliable offense. They've got defensive guys that can sack the quarterback. They can create turnovers. So I like where they're at."
Can McCarthy fix Steelers' offense?
That will be the idea, as McCarthy had great success with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, not to mention his time in Green Bay.
But the Steelers need a quarterback.
Will Aaron Rodgers return? That's unlikely. So Mason Rudolph could be the one.
Could the Steelers look to free agency or the draft for a quarterback McCarthy could develop? Sure.
The defense is set, but now the offense needs a facelift, and maybe McCarthy is the one to make it happen.
