The Pittsburgh Steelers' offense is short yet another pass-catcher.
Steelers tight end Darnell Washington exited the Week 17 loss to the Cleveland Browns early due to an arm injury.
After the game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed that Washington has suffered a broken arm.
"TE Darnell Washington suffered a broken arm today in the loss to the Browns, coach Mike Tomlin said," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport relayed.
This injury will end Washington's 2025 campaign.
This is a devastating blow for the Steelers, as they're already short a pass-catcher for the winner-take-all Week 18 contest against the Baltimore Ravens because of the suspension to wide receiver DK Metcalf.
Adding to that, Washington is a key blocker for Pittsburgh, so that's another issue his absence presents.
Washington's third season in the NFL ends with him tallying 349 receiving yards and one touchdown. The former mark is a career-high, while the latter mark ties his personal best.
With Washington out, the Steelers are going to need more out of Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth, both of whom have had incredibly disappointing seasons.
