The Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills could both use more help at wide receiver.

The Steelers failed to bring in more help at the NFL trade deadline and still lack sufficient depth behind their No. 1 DK Metcalf and neither Roman Wilson nor Calvin Austin have stepped up the way Pittsburgh needs.

Buffalo's situation is just a mess. Keon Coleman was benched last week for being late to a meeting and he has been a major disappointment overall this season. The same can be said for Joshua Palmer, who looks like a huge waste of money.

Both teams have an opportunity to take a swing on a new option, though.

After he was recently reinstated from suspension, Odell Beckham Jr. Could be on the radar for the Steelers and Bills, Bleacher Report's Julia Stumbaugh writes.

"The Steelers are in urgent need of more postseason offense in order to win their first playoff game since the 2016 season. That could open up an opportunity for Beckham should Pittsburgh decide to add depth down the stretch," Stumbaugh wrote of the Steelers.

"Given that tight end Dalton Kincaid is dealing with a hamstring injury after also missing time to injury last season, adding Beckham would give Buffalo some insurance should Allen lose any more of his top targets down the stretch," Stumbaugh said of the Bills.

Beckham was slapped with a six-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. That suspension is now over and Beckham is free to sign with any team.

That said, what Beckham has left in the tank remains to be seen. The last time we saw him, it didn't look like he had much.

Beckham's last somewhat productive season was in 2023, when he tallied 565 yards and three touchdowns over 14 games with the Baltimore Ravens.

In 2024, Beckham appeared in nine games with the Miami Dolphins and posted just nine receptions for 55 yards.

It's quite clear that Beckham is almost certainly not going to provide much, if anything, if he does sign with a team.

But considering how bad things are at wide receiver in Buffalo and Pittsburgh, and with how cheap Beckham come, it's worth a shot for both squads.
