The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few big changes to their wide receiver room this offseason, trading for DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks and sending George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys.

They also signed Robert Woods in free agency and watched Mike Williams sign with the Las Angeles Chargers and Van Jefferson leave for the Tennessee Titans.

With questions at quarterback as well, Pittsburgh will need their receivers to be at the top of their game in 2025. That will include finding someone to step up as their No. 2 behind Metcalf.

While there are a few options for that role, including Roman Wilson, who Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon isn't ready to buy in on just yet.

"Apparently Roman Wilson, a 2024 third-round pick, has been performing well this offseason for the Steelers, which could be huge considering how much they need somebody to step up in support of DK Metcalf in that offense," Gagnon wrote. "He’s also reportedly looked bigger and stronger in practice.

"Great, but check yourself because injuries have always been a factor for the Michigan product. His small frame was always a potential issue, and changing that could also impact his game negatively if he loses some burst.

"Plus, it’s hard to trust the quarterback situation for a team that will likely favor Metcalf throughout the 2025 campaign."

Wilson, 23, caught 107 passes for 1,707 yards and 20 touchdowns in 46 games over four years at Michigan. He also won a national championship and earned All-Big Ten honors in his final season with the Wolverines.

Last year, Pittsburgh took Wilson in the third round (No. 84 overall), but an ankle injury in training camp cost him the beginning of the season, and upon his return, he played just five snaps and suffered a hamstring injury that ended his rookie season.

Woods and Calvin Austin III could also push for the second spot on the depth chart this offseason, but if Wilson stays healthy, he has just as good of a chance to earn the job in his second season.
