When the Pittsburgh Steelers come out of their bye in Week 6, we'll have our eyes on five injured players throughout the week.
The five injured players are outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (ankle), running back Jaylen Warren (knee), cornerbacks Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring) and Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) and wide receiver Calvin Austin (shoulder).
Highsmith and Porter Jr. have missed multiple games in a row, while Warren was a surprise inactive due to injury in Week 4. Ramsey and Austin both exited the game against the Minnesota Vikings early with their injuries.
Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes Highsmith, Warren and Porter Jr. will all be back in Week 6.
"I think he was close to coming back for the Vikings game, they him him out," he said of Porter Jr. "I do think he's gonna be ready to go for Cleveland. I think Alex Highsmith is gonna be bac, I think Jaylen Warren will be back.
Initially, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that both Austin and Ramsey are "expected to miss at least several games" with their injuries.
While that remains to be seen, there was good news on Austin during the bye, as The Athletic's Mike DeFabo revealed that the wide receiver's X-ray results were negative, which lends hope to the idea he won't be out too long.
"X-rays on Calvin Austin III’s shoulder came back negative, according to a league source, which is good news," DeFabo wrote. "I do not know yet if he’ll miss time with the injury or not."
There hasn't been an update on Ramsey outside of Dulac's, so the expectation is that he won't suit up next Sunday. We wouldn't expect to see Austin, either.
