There has been a drastic change in the role of Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth in 2025.
In recent years, Freiermuth has been a key piece of the Steelers' offense, but that has simply not been the case this season.
Entering Week 10, the veteran tight end had just 227 receiving yards and is on pace to finish with his lowest total since his rookie campaign.
Early on in Week 10, we're seeing more of the same for Freiermuth, who is off to a quiet start against the Chargers. Here's a closer look at what's going on.
Is Pat Freiermuth playing tonight?
UPDATE: Freiermuth is on the stat sheet after reeling in a nine-yard catch on Pittsburgh's fourth offensive drive.
UPDATE: Still no action for Muth through two drives. Pitttsburgh ran just four plays on the series that ended with a Chris Boswell field goal.
Freiermuth is active and in the lineup, he just hasn't gotten involved yet.
Pittsburgh didn't have much of a first series, as the team punted after a three-and-out.
We'd like to say Freiermuth will get going soon, but we know better than that after seeing his lackluster production this season.
