The Pittsburgh Steelers' trip to Ireland was mostly successful, as the team notched a 24-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

We say "mostly successful" because of the incident involving Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson, who was "jumped and robbed" during a night out on the town before the Week 4 contest, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Thanks to Conor Gallagher of The Irish Times, we now have a few more details on the incident that weren't immediately available when the story was first reported.

The alleged incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, and around 2:30 a.m. local time, to be exact.

Thompson was in the Dame Street area when "an interaction between the football player and a group of males" happened in the Temple Bar area, the Irish Times reported.

Thompson was allegedly assaulted and had his phone stolen. He was later treated by emergency services but did not require a trip to the hospital.

“I don’t know what happened,” right tackle Troy Fautanu said after the game on Sunday. “I wish he would’ve been with me. Obviously, you never leave anybody behind, so it’s unfortunate that it happened.”

Fautanu added that players were not allowed to leave their hotel the following night after the incident occurred.

Thompson secured the No. 3 quarterback job out of the preseason after rookie Will Howard suffered an injury that required an injured reserve stint.

However, Thompson is currently on IR with his own injury. Thankfully, it looks like he's doing just fun after his scary altercation in Dublin.
