We (might) know when Aaron Rodgers will make his decision

When will Aaron Rodgers announce his decision? Everybody is waiting for that, with Pittsburgh Steelers fans being the most curious. The Rodgers-Steelers rumblings have only grown since the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft, and at this point, there aren't many other realistic destinations for him to be a starting quarterback.

Does Rodgers come to Pittsburgh? Does he end up retiring? Or, as some suggested, does he wait until after the NFL schedule release to reveal his intentions?

Either way, the clock is ticking, and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk thinks an answer is coming from Rodgers "sooner than later."

Common sense suggests that an answer is coming, sooner than later. Aaron Rodgers will, or won’t, sign a contract with the Steelers. Or, at a minimum, he’ll announce his intention to do so. Pittsburgh’s OTAs begin on May 27. That’s only 16 days away. If he’s serious about being as ready as he can be for the looming football season, it makes sense to show up and get to know his teammates, coaches, etc.

Then again, it's Rodgers. He could wait around and take his time, not worried about connecting with his teammates or getting reps in this summer.

Moreover, Florio dropped another nugget and said Rodgers could reveal his decision right before the schedule release, which would be peak Rodgers.

There’s one other possibility that would be hilarious if it happens. We’ve caught wind of the chance (and we have no idea how realistic it is) that Rodgers could announce or leak his plans at 7:45 p.m. ET or so on Wednesday, upstaging the schedule release planned for 15 minutes later.

That would be something. The whole NFL world waits for the 2025 schedule release only to see Rodgers make his decision - and steal headlines - right before.

Would it be surprising? Not really. Does it happen? Who knows. But, as Florio said, a decision has to be coming at some point, and maybe it is soon, although nobody really knows except No. 12.
