The Pittsburgh Steelers have a major problem on their hands with wide receiver DK Metcalf.

During the first half of the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions, Metcalf had an ugly interaction with a Lions fan on the sideline.

It isn't clear what led to the exchange, but Metcalf grabbed the Lions fan and went on to throw a punch at him, which appeared to graze the fan's face.

Check out the ugly exchange below.

Metcalf was not flagged for the incident because officials did not see it happen, but he is not out of the woods yet, as the league is going to review that video.

That is going to be a major issue for Metcalf and the Steelers.

Will DK Metcalf face suspension?

We've seen multiple players get suspended for punching other players this season, so Metcalf is almost certainly going to get hit with at least a one-game ban, and quite possibly more.

Adding to a likely fine and suspension, Metcalf could very well face a lawsuit from the Lions fan for what he did.

Losing Metcalf would be a devastating blow, as the Steelers are in the midst of a playoff race in the AFC North and their wide receivers room is thin as is.

Metcalf needed to show more poise than he did. And because he didn't, it's likely going to end up costing him and his team dearly.
