The Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, and Pittsburgh Steelers have been connected to a veteran wide receiver in NFL free agency.

Pro Football Network's Jacob Infante lists the Browns, Commanders, and Steelers as potential landing spots for free agent receiver Tyler Boyd, who last played for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.

"Coming off the worst season of his career since 2017, nobody’s going to be paying Boyd the big bucks to sign with their team. However, he’s a crafty veteran who dropped just one of his 56 targets last season. Teams looking for a slot free agent or just some veteran mentorship would be wise to look his way for a cheap option," Infante wrote.

Boyd is coming off a rough 2024 campaign, as he hauled in just 39 receptions for 390 yards in 16 games with the Titans. The 30-year-old signed a one-year deal with Tennessee last offseason and was expected to be a savvy veteran receiver for the young team. However, the former Cincinnati Bengal just couldn't find a consistent role in the offense.

Though Boyd didn't play well last year, it would've been difficult for any receiver to flourish in a Titans' offense that possessed historically bad quarterback play. The two-time 1,000-yard receiver could still have some impactful seasons left in him and could be in for a bounce-back season if placed in the right situation.

Cleveland, Washington, and Pittsburgh could all use some receiver help. The Browns don't have another bona fide receiving option outside of Jerry Jeudy, and signing Boyd to serve as a viable security blanket would be a logical move.

The Commanders' receiver room is in an uncertain spot due to Terry McLaurin's contract dispute. Adding Boyd for quarterback Jayden Daniels could take some pressure off Deebo Samuel with McLaurin absent.

The Steelers have needed another capable wide receiver to pair with DK Metcalf since the departure of George Pickens. Boyd would be a solid addition, though he is no longer a serviceable No.2 receiver.
