Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is done with the disrespect towards his head coach, Mike Tomlin.
The veteran quarterback appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and defended Tomlin with an NSFW response to the disrespect the Steelers' head coach receives.
Rodgers also praised Tomlin for his leadership and character.
"Mike T is the man. Any hate, disrespect, and the ilk, is complete and utter b*******,” Rodgers said. “From Day One that we talked on the phone in the offseason, I was never talking to a head coach. I was talking to a friend. I respected the hell out of that. I have crazy respect for him.”
"The way that he leads the room, the way that he talks in team meetings, the way he is at practice. The surprise has been just what a great dude he is. What a great leader he is. On top of what I already expected, which was already high, based off what I thought from afar. He’s the type of guy that every great coach makes you want to play for him. And what I mean to expand on that, is you care so deeply about the person, you don’t want to let him down.”
Tomlin has caught a lot of heat over the last few years due to Pittsburgh's lack of success in the playoffs.
Though the Steelers have never posted a losing record in 18 seasons with Tomlin, the team hasn't won a postseason game since the 2016 season and has won just three playoff games since their last Super Bowl appearance in 2010.
However, there's no denying that Tomlin is a fantastic football coach who has built a gritty culture with the Steelers that will define his legacy. Tomlin has tallied a 183-107-2 record as Pittsburgh's head coach and is one of the longest tenured coaches in the league.
The former Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator also led the Steelers to a Super Bowl victory over the Arizona Cardinals in 2008, which was just his second season as head coach.
Heading into 2025, Tomlin will be looking to end the playoff win drought in Pittsburgh and go on a lengthy postseason run with Rodgers in the final season of his illustrious career.
