When Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers take on Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, it'll be a full-circle moment for Rodgers.
Rodgers, who turned 42 earlier this month, will be taking on Shedeur nearly 20 years to the day when he suited up against Sanders' father, Deion Sanders.
That came on Dec. 19, 2005, which was Rodgers' rookie season and Deion's final campaign in the NFL.
The then-Green Bay Packers quarterback got into the Week 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens, who Deion was playing for at the time.
Rodgers came into the game in place of Brett Favre with the Packers getting crushed and completed 8-of-15 passes for 65 yards and one pick.
Earlier in the game, and before Rodgers entered, Sanders notched an interception off Favre.
In the week leading up to the Week 17 game against Shedeur and the Browns, Rodgers talked about having faced Deion years ago.
"I didn't throw him a pick, thankfully, but he was playing in Baltimore in 2005 when we went down there Monday night, and I came in the game," Rodgers said. "We were down 41-3. I had a fun exchange with them between the third and fourth quarters. Luckily, I kept it tight. We only lost 51-3."
The fact that Rodgers suited up against Deion and is now playing against his son just goes to show how long his career has been. It's almost unfathomable, really.
If Rodgers didn't feel old before, he probably will now.
While that's a fun little nugget about today's game, the Steelers are going to be all business, as a victory over Cleveland will secure the AFC North for Pittsburgh.
A loss would set up a do-or-die Week 18 showdown with Deion's former team, the Ravens.
