The Pittsburgh Steelers have finally landed Aaron Rodgers. The veteran quarterback is set to fly to Pittsburgh on Friday to sign his contract with the Steelers ahead of mandatory minicamp next week, per NFL Network insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. The deal will be for one year, though we don't know the full details yet.

With Rodgers committing to Pittsburgh for the 2025 season, we could see some of his old friends join him in the Steel City. Pittsburgh has a pressing need at wide receiver after trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, so general manager Omar Khan could look to bring in one of Rodgers former teammates to address the need.

That said, here are three Rodgers buddies who the Steelers could consider acquiring to help out DK Metcalf in the receiver room.

Steelers wide receiver targets

Allen Lazard, New York Jets

Lazard has played most of his career with Rodgers as his starting quarterback. The 29-year-old's most productive campaign came in his final season with the Green Bay Packers in 2022, where he hauled in 60 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns. He signed a three-year deal with the Jets during the 2023 offseason, and Rodgers quickly followed after him.

Though Lazard isn't a high-level No.2 receiver, he has proven to be a nice red zone threat, and his familiarity with Rodgers would make him a solid fit in Pittsburgh's offense. It will also likely only take a late Day 3 pick for New York to ship him out.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers

Due to the selections of Matthew Golden and Savion Williams in the draft, Doubs' future with the Packers is uncertain. He is also entering the final year of his deal and took a step back in 2024.

Doubs would be the most logical player to target on this list. The Nevada product is still young and has shown a ton of promise, primarily in 2023, when he posted 674 yards and eight touchdowns. He also played one season with Rodgers in 2022, where he tallied 425 yards and three touchdowns as a depth receiver.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

Like Doubs, Watson could get lost in Green Bay's deep receiver room. Though his health is a major question mark, Watson is a dynamic threat who would add some much-needed explosiveness to the Steelers' offense.

The 26-year-old's best season in the league thus far came in 2022 during his rookie campaign with Rodgers at quarterback, where he totaled 611 yards and seven touchdowns on 14.9 yards per reception.
