When it comes to parity, the NFC East reigns supreme. There hasn’t been a repeat champion in the division for over 20 years, but the Philadelphia Eagles are well on their way to snapping that steak.

The Eagles, who won the division last year, are in complete control of the division again this season after Week 11. It would take a complete collapse by the Eagles to lose pole position in the division, and even that might not be enough.

Here’s how the conference standings look after Philadelphia’s 16-9 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night football (The Dallas Cowboys are set to play the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football):

1. Philadelphia Eagles: 8-2 (.800)

2. Dallas Cowboys: 3-5-1 (.389)

3. Washington Commanders: 3-8 (.273)

4. New York Giants: 2-9 (.182)

Eagles have scored the fewest points in the NFC East

The defending champions have won 80 percent of their games in the current campaign, and they’re the only team in the division that even has a winning record. However, despite Philadelphia’s division dominance in the win-loss column, they’ve actually scored the least amount of points out of the four teams in the NFC East.

Here’s a look at the total point production by team in the division:

Cowboys: 263 points scored

Giants: 237 points scored

Commanders: 236 points scored

Eagles: 234 points scored

This stat perfectly sums up the Eagles’ season to this point, as they’ve been able to stack wins despite the fact that they’ve struggled to produce points consistently. They scored just 26 total points over the past two games against the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, but they were also able to pull out victories in both games, thanks largely to dominant defensive performances. Unsurprisingly, the Eagles have allowed the fewest points in the NFC East by a wide margin.

That’s what has made the Eagles such a confounding, and at times frustrating, team so far this season. They’re winning games, but the offense has been underperforming, especially compared to the talent level on the team. Given that fact, it’s tough to have complete confidence in them. The defense has been Super Bowl-caliber, the offense hasn’t.

Given their position in the division, the Eagles appear destined for a fifth consecutive playoff appearance. They still have time to get the offense on track before the start of postseason play, and their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champs could hinge on their ability to do so.
