Report: Cowboys denied Eagles’ boldest move of the offseason image

Despite the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are a division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles still inquired about a trade for superstar linebacker Micah Parsons before he was traded to the Green Bay Packers.

That little nugget comes from ESPN's Adam Schefter, who revealed that the Eagles made a play for Parsons but were denied by the Cowboys, and understandably so.

"One team that made a strong play this summer to try to trade for All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons was none other than the Philadelphia Eagles, per league sources," Schefter reported.

"The Eagles called the Cowboys to see if they could acquire Parsons and bring him back to Pennsylvania," Schefter added. "But the Cowboys had no interest in trading Parsons in the division, especially to the defending Super-Bowl champion Eagles, whom they open with tonight."

The Parsons trade in and of itself angered Cowboys fans, but trading him to the NFC East's best team and reigning Super Bowl champions would have made them even more frustrated.

Not even Jerry Jones was dumb enough to do something like that.

While it was never going to happen, we can't blame Eagles general manager Howie Roseman for trying. We would've put him in Canton immediately had he pulled off something like that.
